Service Description
Coldwater therapy is an incredible and life changing experience. It isn’t just hopping in a freezing Ice bath, it’s immersing in a river, lake, ocean, a shower or being exposed to cold weather. It’s finding comfort in the discomfort of the cold. Experiencing and adapting to the shock of hopping in is where the benefit of the cold stems from; the body releases chemicals beneficial to our body and mind. Creating neurological changes that improve our quality of being and life. I have an affinity with those who fear or dislike the idea of jumping into cold water. I used to hate cold water, it would take me ages to even get in, I would stand at the edge of the cold water and sometimes choose to walk away rather than face the discomfort. Through trial and error, I found ways that work for me, and I bring my passion and these skills into the Cold Water Therapy sessions. I don’t use any influential force or coercion. I want you to explore and experience your connection to the cold, so you find your inner strength. I create a caring environment to empower people to choose to get in. Some people's bodies do better in the warmer tubs as super cold isn’t for everyone. I tailor the temp for each person. It’s important to know the colder the temperature doesn’t mean it’s better for you. It’s about listening to your body and this is why I don’t record the temp or time ( I do have a vague idea) this makes you listen to your body and stops competition. In a session I go over the benefits and contraindication, I guide you through a 25 minute breath sequence to prepare you for the cold, when you are ready after the breathing you hop in.
